
As part of the 2025 ACEC Missouri Summer Meeting, ACEC Missouri and the Environmental Committee will be hosting it's annual Environmental & Energy Conference. Participants attending this will receive 4.5 PDHs.

9:00-9:10 AM - Opening Introductions 9:10-10:00 AM - State of Missouri Energy Plan - Emily Wilbur, PE, MDNR Director of Division of Energy- Ms. Wilbur will provide an update on the state energy plan, where Missouri is headed with its energy plan and what are some potential future changes. 10:05-11:00 AM - AI Data Centers and Natural Resources - Stephen Van De Kieft, Olsson - As artificial intelligence continues to revolutionize the way we live, work, and innovate, the demand for AI-driven data centers is growing at an unprecedented rate. With that growth comes a pressing need to understand the significant energy and water requirements that power these digital engines of the future. This session will explore the complex relationship between AI data centers and the natural resources they consume, offering insights into current challenges, innovative solutions, and the path forward for sustainable growth in the AI era. 11:00-11:15 AM - Break 11:15 AM-12:00 PM - Challenges of Solar Farms on Agricultural Land - Emily LeRoy and Kayden Guymon, Missouri Farm Bureau - Solar farms on agricultural land pose challenges such as the loss of productive farmland, which can affect local food supply and rural economies. They may also impact soil health, water runoff, and ecosystems. Balancing clean energy goals with farming needs and the desires of local residents can present a significant challenge. 12:00-12:50 PM - Lunch & Presentation - Stacy Milheiser, Energy & Industrial Sector Client Manager, Lochmueller Group - Ms. Milheiser will provide a briefing on the ACEC National Energy Committee and their recent activities and also share developments from the Missouri Nuclear Summit. 1:00-2:00 PM - Speaker, TBD 2:15-3:00 PM - Environmental Committee Meeting (The committee will convene for discussion and feedback on the Environmental/Energy Conference, and will have an open discussion. This part of meeting is open to anyone who wants to participate.)
