Project: South Liberty Project, Phase II
Client: City of Liberty
The South Liberty Parkway project is a new 2.5-mile-long four lane parkway in south Liberty Missouri. The new roadway extension connects the parkway from the developed west side of Liberty over Shoal Creek and four railroads to MoDOT’s Route 291 on the east side of Liberty. This is a critical link to accommodate future traffic from growth in south Liberty. The parkway has a unique design that uses a “V” shape typical section that allows storm drainage to pass into the median for conveyance and water quality enhancement. The project challenges included balancing the grading operations while the project was divided into three segments by the railroads and Shoal Creek, the two bridges spanning these same elements and designing the roadway to miss a major gas line and power line support tower.
