Grand Award – Anderson Engineering, Inc., Monett
Project: Cassville Intermediate Flood Remediation & Mitigation Project
Client: Cassville R-IV
Mitigation efforts are now complete at Cassville R-IV; drawing to a close the two (2) year efforts of the Cassville District and Anderson Engineering to reconstruct and provide extensive flood mitigation components. Anderson Engineering utilized an innovative approach and their extensive performance competencies to formulate a multi-phase approach to investigation, remediation, reconstruction, and redundant mitigation. Anderson Engineering ultimately designed a redundant flood mitigation system to intercept multiple below surface water pathways. The designed and constructed project included external deep pumping stations to intercept ground water, a lateral boring system beneath the classrooms to provide both gravity and pumped flow exits, and an internal French drain system within and beneath the classrooms and hallway. All three components are interconnected to allow for redundant water flow in case of power outage and diversified flood impacts. The final project cost was under budget and the students and teachers are actively utilizing their classrooms.
